Margrette Lamkin is a native Californian. Her studies in the Cecchetti Syllabi sent her traveling across the US, Canada, Italy and England. She was exposed to many forms of dance including ballet, tap, flamenco, character, modern and jazz. At the age of 17 she ventured off to attend Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana. While earning her degree in Marketing she was a member of the Southold Ballet Company. She has performed in countless roles in The Nutcracker, Romeo & Juliet, Swan Lake and the Don Quixote Pas de deux both with Southold Ballet Company and the Saint Mary’s College Dance Program.
Margrette began her Pilates training at the age of twelve with Marie Jose Blom-Lawrence in Long Beach. Marie Jose is the founder of Long Beach Dance Conditioning Certification Program used by thousands of Pilates Instructors worldwide. The Pilates technique allowed Margrette to successfully battle an early case of scoliosis, and to pursue her passion for ballet dance.
"I love my clients!" says Margrette. "I enjoy working closely with them to help them feel and look their best through the Pilates method. My clients say that coming here is the funnest hard work they do all week! I provide a relaxed and private environment and together we get results. I have experience working with scoliosis, hip, shoulder, and knee pain. And, for the healthy and active client, it's fun to see just how much Pilates can enhance their lifestyle."
